The Wonders of The Name of Jesus, by Deacon Ariyo Areola

TEXT: Philippians 2:9-11 – Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

INTRODUCTION: Looking at our theme for this month which says – Fame That Spread. Fame is the state being widely known or recognized by many people because of your achievements. The name of Jesus is the most famous and known name that spread in His lifetime and is still spreading even after leaving us as man. Even devil and his agents know the name. A name that is above every creature, men and angels. A name that is above every power to the extent that at the mention of that name Jesus, every knee must bow to him.

The whole creation must be in subjection to Him: things in heaven, things on earth and things under the earth. The living and the dead obeyed the name Jesus; the name is so glorious we’re still obeying Him. He is highly exalted both in honour and in power. The name of the Lord is wonderful. Everything you will ever need can be found in that name. It is the most powerful name in the universe. According to Jn.14:13-14 when you pray to make declarations in that glorious name, all your requests shall be granted and every decree shall be enforced.

Name can help determine the future or destiny of a child.

Ex.2:10 Says And the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses, saying, “I drew him out of water.”

Moses means pull/drawn out of water. He was given that name by Pharaoh’s daughter after rescuing him from the Nile. That name eventually worked against Moses. Passed through the Red Sea (water) in Ex.14, in Numbers chapter 11, it was water that the Israelites were complaining about and God told Moses to speak to the rock, but he struck the rock instead. Yes it was disobedience, yes it was anger, but what brought anger and disobedience? Water. Just because of water he couldn’t get to promise land. Name can work positively/negatively for the bearer.

I command every given name working against your destiny to be consumed by the fire of the Holy Ghost in Jesus name.

1 Chr.4:9-10 Says And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. (10) And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve (pain) me! And God granted him that which he requested.

You will be more honourable in your office in the mighty name of Jesus.

You will be more honourable in your country in the mighty name of Jesus

You will be more honourable in this land in the mighty name of Jesus

In some gathering, decision cannot be taken without the presence or the opinion of some people. Even if it has been taken without his or her knowledge, such person’s decision will still be the final say. It supersedes every other decision.

God will honour you in this land in Jesus name

You don’t name a child the way mother of Jabez did. Jabez means sorrow, pain. Thank God Jabez knew that he needs to cry to God for a change of name and God granted his request.

Spiritual change of name was done on the name of Jabez.

Gen. 17:4-5 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. (5) Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee

Gen.17:15 Says And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.

In Gen.12:2 God told Abram that He will make him a great nation, but at changing of his name in Gen.17 He said he will make him father of many nations. The same with Sarai (a princess) to Sarah (mother of mother of nations).

It is scriptural to change your name like Jabez did spiritually. It is also scriptural to change it physically like in the case of Abraham and Sarah or the case of the surplanter to Israel. Name has a lot to do with the future. A lot to do with destiny. How and what your fame will look like.

Any given name working against your home is hereby cancelled in Jesus name.

Every given name working against your fame is cancelled in Jesus name.

Your home used to be heaven on earth before the intruder came. Jesus will chase the intruder out and your home will be heaven again in Jesus name

The name of Jesus is the key that opens the doors of wonder.

What is Wonder?

Wonder means amazement, something marvelous, extraordinary, glorious, and awesome.

Isaiah 22:22 And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.

Jesus Christ will open the door of amazement into your life.

You will be amazed in the mighty name of Jesus.

Your mates will be amazed in things that you do in Jesus name.

You will be known both in this land and beyond in Jesus name.

You will be admired in the mighty name of Jesus.

Are you single and you are ripe for marriage and no opposite sex is looking at you, today by that name that is above every other name you will be admire in Jesus name.

Nobody would have admired someone like the man at the beautiful gate, but according to Acts.3.8-10 which says all the people saw him walking, leaping and praising God, they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. He had an encounter with the name of Jesus.

From today any one that sees you will be filled with wonder and amazement in Jesus name.

How am I so sure of what am saying?

Acts.3:16 Says And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

The name is so strong that it was recorded twice in a single sentence. The name of Jesus is a strong tower that the righteous run to and get saved.

That’s why I can confidently speak to every single that is ripe for holy matrimony this morning; you will be admired in Jesus name.

Is it in your office or where you work that your boss doesn’t like to see your face, from today you will be admire in Jesus name.

God will do a marvellous thing in your life in the mighty name of Jesus.

Revelation 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

Every door of fame that the devil might have shut against you is hereby open in Jesus mighty name.

Every door of obscurity in your life is hereby changed to door of fame in Jesus name.

Every door of disgrace in your life is hereby changed to door of fame in the mighty name of Jesus.

How do I know?

Psalm 25:1 Says unto thee oh Lord do I lift up my soul, oh my God I trust in thee, let me not be ashamed, let not my enemies triumph over me.

Every form of shame, dishonour or humiliation in your life is cancelled in Jesus name.

It is a name that is full of wonders. Where ever you are in any part of the world this name will grant you access to divine wonders.

It will open the doors of fame to you.

It will magnetize favor and fill your life with wonders.

JESUS HAS MANY NAMES

• He is the Door.

John 10:7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

We are the sheep and Jesus is our door. You want to be famous, come to the most famous person on earth, underneath the earth and in heaven.

The door to your progress is open in Jesus name.

Door to your fruitfulness is open in Jesus name.

• The Good Shepherd

John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

You want good life of fame, come to the one who gives it. Someone can be famous for being good or bad.

You will be remembered for something good in Jesus name.

You will be celebrated while you are still alive in Jesus name.

• The Resurrection and the Life

John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live

I don’t know the kind of dead situation you are in now but I know the All knowing God that can bring it back to life.

I command every dead situation in your life to come back to life in Jesus name.

Every dead business, receive life in Jesus name

• The Way The Truth & The Life

Jn. 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

I don’t know the situation you are now and it seems you cannot find a way out of it. I sure know someone who will help you find your way out of such situation, and his name is Jesus. He is better than the best navigator you could ever lay hands on. Let Him navigate your life.

The way is showing you right way out now in the mighty name of Jesus.

The Truth will be known in Jesus name.

• Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace

Is. 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

• Alpha Omega, The beginning, the ending, the One who is, the One who was, the One who is to come , The Almighty.

Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty

WHAT CAN HIS NAMES DO?

• His name guarantees deliverance

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Signs shall follow you for the rest of your life in the mighty name of Jesus.

Every form of bondage is hereby cast out into the lake of fire in the mighty name of Jesus.

• His name guarantees healings

Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

I command any form of sickness in your body to dry up in the mighty name of Jesus.

• His name guarantees freedom. How am I so sure

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed

From today because you are under this ministration, you are set free in the mighty name of Jesus.

• His name guarantees joy

John 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

From today you will enjoy joy unspeakable in the mighty name of Jesus.

• His name guarantees peace

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

• His name guarantees promotion

John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Receive your promotion in the mighty name of Jesus

Receive spiritual promotion, financial, mental in Jesus name.

Receive promotion in your studies in Jesus name.

• His name guarantees victory

Philippians 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth

I command every war in any form waged against you to bow to that name that is above every other name in Jesus name.

• His name guarantees rest

Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light

Are you restless in any way, come to the one whose name guarantees your rest. He’s famous for that, he is the creator, he gives rest at will.

As you believe His words so shall it be in Jesus name

• Guarantees satisfaction

John 7:37-38 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Are you in anyway dissatisfied with what the devil and his cohorts have made you go through in life, come to the one who is famous for satisfying creation. He is the manufacturer and He gives willingly if only you could come and ask.

CONCLUSION: The name of Jesus settles it all. Register your name with Him so as to have unhindered access to fame that spread. Fame that will be forever, an everlasting fame, fame that generations to come will still meet, fame that will go beyond the shores of this land.

Acts 4:12 Says Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

You want to enjoy this fame; you have to surrender your life to the most famous name on earth, underneath the earth and in heaven. Don’t look down on yourself. Whatever sin you might have committed, the blood of Jesus is ready to wash it away now and your name will be written in the book of life.

Isaiah 59:1-2 Says Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened that he cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that he cannot hear: but your iniquities have separated you and your God ,and your sin have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
