You Have Found Favour In My Sight, by Pastor Samuel Obafaiye

It is very important for one to be hardworking, industrious and studious in life. Beyond those, what can make one to really stand out in life: at work, in vocation, career, academics, etc. is favour.

Favour can either be underpinned to one thing in the life of the recipient or nothing at all. Its purpose is to bless the recipient beyond what they actually would have merited.

Today, God has impressed it upon my spirit that there are some people listening to me right now that He will do amazing things in their lives this month, just because they have found favour in His sight.

– May you be one of them in Jesus name.

There are several people in the bible that achieved tremendous feats; received amazing blessings and enjoyed unbelievable victory or honour solely because they found favour in God’s sight.

– May you also find favour in Jehovah’s sight in Jesus name.

Moses was such an extraordinary person in his days and up to now. He was a man that God used to do marvellous things; and to the Israelites of his days, he was almost like a god. Moses was able to enjoy these special considerations because he found favour in God’s sight.

Right from when God appeared to Moses in the burning bush, one could see the favour of God demonstrated in his life in greater dimension. Despite his unwillingness and several excuses he gave in order not to become the Israelites leader, God insisted he must be and he became their leader.

– You are listening to me now; you have been pushing back what God wants to do in your life by a childish act. May God overlook your childishness and still fulfil His word in your life in Jesus name.

– There is someone listening to me, the blessings of God will not only be upon your life in multiple folds, God will use you to for multiple surprises as well.

Exodus 33:13-17

Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth. And the Lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.

God did not only show Moses His way, but He said He will go with him in person.

– May God bless you more than your request.

God’s reason to Moses is because he has found favour in His sight and He knew him by name.

May God know you by name. I question what that means…

‘Because you are my friend’.

May God take you as His friend.

– There is also someone listening to me, God is set to lift you up at your place of work miraculously.

Joseph was a slave in Potiphar’s house; he was not even an Egyptian slave but a foreign slave. He was however the one in charge of everything in Potiphar’s house, except his wife.

Genesis 39:3-4

And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand. And Joseph found favour in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.

– There is somebody listening to me, because you have found favour with God, you will be promoted to a level you are not supposed to occupy very soon.

In the Book of Esther, it was recorded that death sentence was hanging over the head of the Jewish race, but it was cancelled by God, as He made Queen Esther to find favour in sight of king Ahasuerus.

No one comes before the king except he requests for them, the penalty was death! (You will startle him, as he doesn’t know your intention, it could be coup).

Instead of death penalty for Esther, the king granted her favour – the opportunity to ask for half of his kingdom!

– If a death penalty is hanging over your head, it is hereby cancelled in Jesus name. Physical and/or spiritual death over someone’s head are been cancelled right now in Jesus name.

We have records of how God punished individuals for their wrong doing in the bible. At other times, groups were also punished. An example of that is Sodom & Gomorrah. Two cities that incurred the anger of God and were wiped off human history.

Cities that existed before those can still be traced today, but not Sodom or Gomorrah. The surprising thing is that a family was preserved from that destruction.

Abraham interceded for the cities, but unfortunately their wickedness was too much for God to overlook. Lot and his family however found favour in the sight of God.

Genesis 19:18-21

And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord: Behold now, thy servant hath found favour in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die: Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live. And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken.

– You will not have a part in the destruction of the wicked. Your family shall be preserved from any wrath of God, because of His favour.

God promised Abraham that he would be a father of many nation. He waited for about 12 years and having not seen the evidence yet, he tried to help himself. Ishmael was born out of that error. But 12 years after that error, God appeared again to him and activated the original promise. That happened because Abraham found favour in God’s sight.

Even though Sarah laughed in unbelief, God still fulfilled His promise.

Genesis 18:1-5

And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre:and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree: And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.

God waited patiently for him. He ate cakes, ate goat meat, drank milk, licked honey…

– There is someone listening to me, you have held on to a promise from God for quite a while. That promise is been activated right now.

While you have been waiting, you have demonstrated doubts; God will still do it as you have found favour in His sight.

– I have a message for someone. God is wiping off a particular reproach and shame from you today. Something that you thought has stained your life for ever is been rolled away by God’s favour right now.

Ruth at a time would have thought marriage was over for her after her husband and his brother died in the land of Moab and her mother-in law relocated back to Israel. She followed her mother in-law back to Israel. But as a Moabite woman whom her husband had died mysteriously, it was certain that no kinsman of her former husband would want to marry her again.

However, God made Ruth to find favour in the sight of Boaz, who was the most promising kinsman to Ruth’s husband. She also entered into the genealogy of Jesus Christ out of favour.

Ruth 2:13

Then she said, Let me find favour in thy sight, my lord; for that thou hast comforted me, and for that thou hast spoken friendly unto thine handmaid, though I be not like unto one of thine handmaidens.

– You thought all is lost. Alas! God will surprise you with the best.

– There is someone listening to me, God will use you to birth something new.

Mary was a virgin like any other of her time. Nothing made her holier or righteous than the others. God already had it in mind that He would send His only begotten Son to this world to die for the sins of the world, but through who?

Mary found favour in God’s sight and she became the earthly mother of Jesus Christ.

Luke 1:26-28

And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

– May whatever comes out from your womb be called a holy and amazing thing.

– There is someone listening to me, outstanding victory is coming your way in this season. Effortless victory is now yours.

Gideon was used by God to obtain miraculous victory for Israel. The Midianites were by far stronger than the Israelites. They put the Israelites through slavery and hardship. The choice of the leader to the war was surprising.

Judges 6:14-17

And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? Behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house. And the Lord said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man. And he said unto him, If now I have found favour in thy sight, then shew me a sign that thou talkest with me.

– The favour of God will fight your battles for you.

– The favour of God can bring riches and wealth. May the favour of God bring you hidden riches of the gentiles.

The Israelites served the Egyptians for many years. At the time of their departure, they were to leave empty handed. But God did not let that happen. He made sure that they received riches from their masters.

Exodus 12:35-36

And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: And the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.

– May you be bless with hidden riches.

There is someone listening to me, you have served and laboured. God says I should tell you that you will not go empty handed.

Prayers

Father, Let me continually find favour in Your sight.

Father, Let Your favour distinguish me from Your other creations.

Father, use my life to explain Your favour to the world.
