The Overflowing Greatness, by Pastor Ekundayo Aruwajoye

Text: Psalm 23: 1-5

Greatness is one thing everybody prays for i.e. to attain greatness in every area of one’s life.  If you want to be great in life you need to study the life of great people to know what makes them great.

If you want to know the overflow, then study King David.  He had some characteristics which I want us to look at:

He was a worshipper – Psalm 34:1 says I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Psalm 103:1-3 says Bless the Lord O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name, bless the Lord O my soul and forget not all His benefits. Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases?

He was a witness – Psalm 89-1 says. I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever with my mouth will I make known your faithfulness to all generations.

He was a lover of the house of the Lord. Any time the door is open he will be there. Psalm 27:4 says One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek that I may dwell in the house of the Lord, all the days of my life.

He was an addicted student of the word of God. Psalm 119-18 says Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from your law. Verse 97 & 98 says,   Oh, how I love your law it is my meditation all the day. You through your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me.

He was a builder for God. He wanted to build for God and God said no that his son will do it instead of him, but he went ahead to purchase all the materials that will be used. 1 Chro 28: 2 & 6; 29: 2-5.

He was a builder of people. When he was in the cave of Adullam. 1 Sam. 22: 1 & 2 people who were distressed, rejected ran to him and he built them into great army.

David was committed to do the will of God 100% not halfway.                                .

Prayers

Father, please have mercy on me, my family and the church

Father, let my river of greatness begin to flow from now on in Jesus name.

Father, let the remaining part of this year be filled with pleasant surprises.

Father, let my encounter with you this season be a life changing one in Jesus name.

Father, arise and scatter the enemies of my greatness in Jesus name.

Father, let my life of God’s dream manifest.
