Psalm 3:1-3 – ‘Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me. 2 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah. 3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.’
Literally or in physical terms, the head of any human is very important to that life and the destiny of that individual. If something bad happens to the head, the rest of the body will suffer. Most parts of the human body can be surgically removed and be replaced with a better one, but not the head.
Symbolically or in spiritual terms, the head of a man is also very important; it represents his life and destiny. The kind of life the person will live in the physical realm is determined by the state of their head in the spiritual realm. To make this aspect trickier; heads can be swapped in the spirit realm.
There are many things that seek to bury our heads and destinies, for example, household wickedness, foes (enemies), defeat, shame, despair, disappointments, failure, lack, delays, loss, fruitfulness, sickness, offence etc.
God, however, can raise our heads above all these evils and challenges if we cry to Him as David did in desperation and humility.
May God lift your head high in Jesus name.
There are all kinds of heads:
anyhow head – heads that are just there.
buried heads – heads that have been submerged in life.
raised heads, heads that are lifted, elevated.
rising heads – heads that are continually rising and rising.
Your head shall not be anyhow head. Your head shall not be buried.
Your head shall not only be raised. May God continue to lift your head higher and higher in Jesus name.
In the passage above, King David was praying to God who was the Glory and Lifter of his head and destiny to come to his rescue.
Many foes had risen up against David, many were even boasting that there is no way God can save him from the problem facing him as his own son was seeking to end his life!
So, David was crying to God to save him from his shame, attack, disgrace, impending danger, and death.
There are many characters in the Bible that one thing or the other tried to bury their heads, but God lifted their heads high by His power and might. I am believing the same God for you and me in Jesus name.
Joseph was a good example. He was the eleventh son of Jacob, his position was way behind, but God raised him high. People tried to bury his head in a pit, in dungeon, in slavery, in bitterness, but God raised him extremely high.
Genesis 50: 15-21 15 When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “Perhaps Joseph will hate us, and may [a]actually repay us for all the evil which we did to him.” 16 So they sent messengers to Joseph, saying, “Before your father died he commanded, saying, 17 ‘Thus you shall say to Joseph: “I beg you, please forgive the trespass of your brothers and their sin; for they did evil to you.” ’ Now, please, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of your father.” And Joseph wept when they spoke to him. 18 Then his brothers also went and fell down before his face, and they said, “Behold, we are your servants.” 19 Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? 20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. 21 Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” And he comforted them and spoke [b]kindly to them
As the Lord God lives, your head shall not be buried in a pit, nor in a dungeon, nor in slavery in Jesus name.
Those who are trying to do so, shall be your slave. They shall serve you; they shall be terrified of you.
In Genesis 40:1-22, the Bible says the Chief Baker and the Chief Butler of Pharaoh’s heads were hanging on a balance. They were locked up in prison where Joseph was kept. They both had a dream on the same night which Joseph interpreted for them.
And so, it was as Joseph interpreted, the Chief Butler’s head was lifted within three days, but the Chief Baker’s head was cut off and his body was hung on a tree.
Whatever might happen around you, your head shall be preserved. In whatever you do: career, vocation, business, study, your head will not be severed. Your destiny shall not suffer disgrace in Jesus name.
As Haman was planning the downfall and execution of Mordecai, God was planning for Mordecai’s head to be lifted higher instead. God did not allow the King to sleep in order to elevate Mordecai. Haman was asked to parade Mordecai around the city with splendour and majesty. He was later promoted to the Prime Minister under King Artaxerxes/Queen Esther.
Every plan of downfall and execution upon your life shall fail in Jesus name.
Anyone planning your downfall will be outplayed by God.
Those who are critical to the lifting of your head shall not rest until they play their part in Jesus name.
Those who have vowed to see your downfall will themselves fall before you.
In Jeremiah 52:31 the Bible says on the 25th day of the 12th month of the 37th year of the exile of Jehoiachin King of Judah, Evil-merodach, King of Babylon showed favour unto him and brought him out of the prison. He spoke kindly to him, he set him on the throne, he made his throne to be above he thrones of other kings who were with him in Babylon.
His prison clothes were changed, he had his meals in the king’s presence regularly all the days of his life, a regular allowance was given to him by King Evil-Merodach, a daily portion was also given to him all the days of his life until his death. Nine huge liftings!
The favour of God will lift you high.
People will rally round you to lift you high.
Even, the Evil-Merodach of life will show you favour.
God will set you on a higher throne.
God will adorn you with clothes of honour.
He will grant you kingly meals, a regular allowance and a daily ration will be granted to you all the days of your life in Jesus name.
God knows how to shut the mouth of the proud, by lifting the lowly. That was what happened between Hannah and Peninnah.
Hannah might have been the 1st wife of Elkanah; but she had no child, Peninnah, however, had children. Peninnah was making life miserable for Hannah still. Years upon years, this continued.
One day, God began to lift the head of Hannah higher and higher, she had four sons and two daughters. Her first son – Samuel became the High Priest of Israel, whom Peninnah and her children would have had to revere.
1 Samuel 3: 19-20 19 And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground. 20 And all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the Lord.
Whatever people must have mocked you for; you will soon be celebrated for it.
Those who are making life miserable for you because of something you do not have will soon find out that what they have is even inferior to yours.
Those who have bragged for you will be abased before you by God.
The Peninnah’s of life against your life shall eat their words in shame.
Proverbs 16:18 18 Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
James 4: 6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
In Isaiah 14: 13-17 and Ezekiel 28:12-19, we have the sad story of Lucifer – the Dragon. God had promoted him as the Anointed Cherub that covers, yet he was not satisfied. He wanted to be like the Most High; and even place his own throne higher than that of the Almighty.
God, however, cast him down to the Earth from the heights of heaven. It was even a junior ranked angel to him that threw him out of heaven.
Revelation 12:7-10 7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
I read online that there are likely 9 Classes of Angels: while Satan was a chief in the 2nd group; Michael was one of the 8th group. So, the gap between them was huge.
Seraphim (4), Cherubim (few and fearful), Thrones, Dominion, Virtues, Powers, Principalities, Archangels and Angels.
It will still be a junior rank angel that will lock Satan up for 1000 years during the millennial reign because God’s power is backing up the lower ranked angel.
Revelation 20: 1-3 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven. He had in his hand a key to the hole without a bottom. He also had a strong chain. 2 He took hold of the dragon, that old snake, who is the Devil, or Satan, and chained him for 1,000 years. 3 The angel threw the devil into the hole without a bottom. He shut it and locked him in it. He could not fool the nations anymore until the 1,000 years were completed. After this he must be free for awhile.
The power of God shall back you up in life. God will use you to mesmerise the world.
Psalm 75:6-7 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. 7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
Gideon was the youngest in his father’s house; and his clan was the poorest in Manasseh, yet God choose to lift him up in the whole of Israel. He became the Judge over the whole nation.
David was the 8th Son of his Father, he was chosen and anointed as King over Israel by God after Saul.
Jephthah was the child of a harlot, but he was lifted by God to be the Judge over Israel while the children of the nobles were neglected by God.
Daniel was chosen by God to be higher than all the Vice Presidents and Governors in Babylon under the reign of four different Kings, even though he was a captive living in exile in Babylon.
The same was the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. God promoted them in a foreign land.
The Lord God that promoted these people shall promote you.
Your head shall be lifted high in Jesus name.
Your head shall not be neglected. Your head shall not rejected.
Your head shall not be swapped.
Your head shall be lifted high in Jesus name.
My head shall be lifted by God. God – Jehovah is the glory and lifter of my head. My head, receive and enjoy the lifting of the Lord God Almighty in Jesus name.
Prayers
- Father, continue to lift me higher in life in Jesus name.
- Father lift me beyond my imagination
I destroy every yoke restricting my elevation by the anointing of the Holy Ghost in Jesus name – 1saiah 10v27
- In the name of Jesus I refuse the spirit of retardation I move into a new level of glory right now.
- I paralyze every strongman of delay and backwardness working against me, I receive grace to leap higher in the name of Jesus.
- I command every agent of stagnation working against my elevation to be frustrated right now in the name of Jesus. Isaiah 22v25
- Father by your power I receive grace to attain, maximum achievement for my life each year in the name of Jesus.
- Father, give me the grace to achieve effortless results in Jesus name.
- I break every curse of unfruitfulness and limitation placed upon my life in the name of Jesus.
- Father, give me Divine direction that will propel me to great heights this year in Jesus name.
- Father, grant me an excellent spirit that command elevation.
