Speak Into Your Life, by Deacon Ariyo Areola

TEXT: 2 Kings 8:5-6 And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land.And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.

And when the king asked the woman, she told him.So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.

INTRODUCTION:
This is the continuation of the story of the Shun am mite woman whose household was blessed through prophet Elisha in 2 kings chapter 4.She was not only blessed with a child in vs 17, but also received miracle of life when the child died and was raised from the dead by the power of God through Elisha in vs 35.

Here is a woman because of Elishas instruction had to leave her house and go to another land just for her to avoid a 7 year famine. On her coming back after the 7th year, she found out that her house and land have been taken over.

She was confused and with her son went to the king for help.And as she entered

1) It was at that particular moment that Gehazi was telling the king about the miracle that the woman and her son received through prophet Elisha.

2) The question now is what could servant of a prophet be doing in the palace of a king.A leper for that matter according to 2 kings 5:27.A leper in those days don’t stay in the city, but in the bush.A leper cannot enter burning ham palace.

3) How can a servant be chatting with a king in the palace.It will take only direct intervention of God for a border control officer at Leeds airport to give Theresa May a report on what happened at the point of entry of Leeds Airport.Its Boris Johnson that gives such report as the home office secretary.Gehazi is not a prophet.But because God wants to use him to introduce the woman and her son to the king, probably the king would not have listen to the woman, probably the king would not have accepted the woman and her story, but because God his the helper of the helpless and he has a way of introducing people in His own way, He made Gehazi not only to be at the palace at that moment, but to also say the right thing at the right time.

You will be at the right place at the right time in Jesus mighty name.

Looking at our Theme for the month of September and the bible chapter in the bulletin, although God has already commanded the widow of Zarephath in 1 kings 17:9 to feed Elijah whenever he comes, Elijah was also aware of this and humanly speaking he doesn’t need to tell the widow to give him water to drink(vs 10).Because God has arranged their introduction, he doesn’t need to tell her in vs.11 to bring him bread to eat.In vs.18 when the son died, the widow do not really have to cry to Elijah for help.Humanly speaking a prophet filled with the power of the Holy ghost like Elijah do not need to cry unto the Lord as he did in vs.20.

What am I saying?

Whenever their is an introduction, their must be a spoken word or words like in the Holy Matrimony.

One of the tools the devil is using to tame Christians in this part of the world is not to open their mouth to ask for what they want from God.

Elijah opened his mouth to ask for water and food.He even had a preference. The first thing he asked for was water.

The widow also opened her mouth to ask for Elijahs help.

This simply means it is good to receive prophesy like Elijah and the widow of Zarephath did, but we should not relax.We also have a role to play for it to come to pass.Our role is to ask God to make it come to pass.As we open our mouth to ask this morning so shall it come to pass in Jesus name.

Going back to our text, in verse 6 after the introduction, the king asked (spoke) and the woman told him all that Gehazi has said was true and we know the rest of the story.(she also spoke)

The question now is how do we speak?

Phil.4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God.

How do we make our request known unto God?

Matt.7:7 Ask,and it shall be giving you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

What we will be looking at this morning will be what happens after the helper of the helpless has introduced us to our helper.

Ex 2:24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

Ex 3:7 ¶ And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;

It is when you speak that you will be heard. It was when they cried that God heard their cry and remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

When they cried God saw their affliction and knew their sorrows.

Even though He answered them in:

Ex 16:12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God.

They murmured ie they complained. God by His mercy released their blessings to them.

• In this month of September you will not die of hunger.

• In the evening He gave them flesh.This month of September God will give you meat to eat.Meat is nourishing to the body.Its sort of protein.Good for the body.

• In the morning He gave them bread.This month of September, God will give you bread to eat in Jesus name.Bread is carbohydrate. It serves as energy. It stands for strenght.You will be energetic for the Lord in Jesus name.You are strengthened in Jesus name.

• He gave them more than enough for each family. Every Family represented here, you will have more than enough.

• Their will be a reconnection for good in your life in the name of Jesus

• Every good things that has disconnected from you shall be reconnected in Jesus name.

• God will reintroduce you for the best in Jesus name

• God will introduce you to your husband/wife

• God will introduce you to the best job in this land in Jesus name.

The direction of our speaking to God today is also exemplified by the story in Job 42:4, 8-12

(Job 42:4 Give ear to me, and I will say what is in my mind; I will put questions to you, and you will give me the answers).

Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou me.

Job 42:8 And now, take seven oxen and seven sheep, and go to my servant Job, and give a burned offering for yourselves, and my servant Job will make prayer for you, that I may not send punishment on you; because you have not said what is right about me, as my servant Job has.

And Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite, went and did as the Lord had said. And the Lord gave ear to Job.

And the Lord made up to Job for all his losses, after he had made prayer for his friends: and all Job had before was increased by the Lord twice as much.

And all his brothers and sisters, and his friends of earlier days, came and took food with him in his house; and made clear their grief for him, and gave him comfort for all the evil which the Lord had sent on him; and they all gave him a bit of money and a gold ring.

1.You will be important in this month of September

Job became so important because of the power of God upon his life that he was an intercessor for his friends. He’s a carrier of God’s power.

Without Job the burnt offering of Eliphaz and Bildad will not be acceptable.

The woman became so important that the king appointed one of his special assistant to administer the restoration of her house and land back to her.

2. You will be a reference point in this month

Job became a reference point for others. He was magnified the same way Joshua was magnified before Israel after crossing River Jordan.

Josh. 4:14 On that day the LORD magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.

1Pe 5:10 ¶ But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

3. You will be accepted

Job 42:9 “The Lord accepted Job”.It is the person that you accept that you listen to.The Lord gave ear to Job.

2 Kings 8:6 The king accepted the woman.Man will not chat with someone he doesn’t accept not to talk of a king.

Abel was accepted and Cain was rejected.

David was accepted and Eliab and Saul were rejected.

• In all the places you have been rejected, you will be accepted this month. You are accepted in your office in Jesus name.

• Your file will be revisited in Jesus name.

4. No more Losses

Job who suffered losses, after crying to God, took him from losers list to multiplication group.

For all that he lost, He made up for him.

The Shunammite woman did not only got her house and land back, but also income from the land for the past 7 years.It was like the land was leased and she was paid for the 7 years she was away.

No 9 is a symbol of fruitfulness, you are fruitful this month.Receive it in the mighty name of Jesus.

Job 42:10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

Ps 126:1 When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.

Here was a man who lost everything. But bcos he cried to God, he got double blessing.

Isaiah 61:7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.

5. Your friends and enemies will bow to you.

Eliphaz and Bildad came to bow before Job. How will u stand before somebody that will pray for you?

Pr 14:19 The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

6. You will be celebrated

All the brethren of Job came to celebrate him bcos there was a feast of bread.

To celebrate means to show happiness that something good / special has happened by eating and drinking.

The Samaritan woman demonstrated this in:

Jn. 4:29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

7. You will make money.

When brethren came to Job, they came with money and comfort.

Money will meet money in your hands.

The woman was paid in full for seven years she was away.I don’t know what have been taking from you for years, but I know you will be paid in full this month in Jesus name.

Comfort means relief from pain/anxiety.

Sarah when she was barren, she had pains but when Isaac came there was relief and she called Isaac laughter.

• In this month of September you will be physically relief

• Spiritually relief

• No pain, no anxiety

• The pleasant places of your businesses will not dry up.

• The spring or source of your wealth will not dry up.

Ps 16:6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places.

CONCLUSION: Despite all the cajoling by Job’s wife and friends, he stood for the Lord. Have you been cajoled into sin. Have they dangled the carrot of the devil in your direction? Why not stand still for God like Job.

ALTAR CALL

Psalms 7:11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

Why do you want to pass through this month with the anger of God?

He loves you but He hates sin.

Revelation 22:11-12 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

PRAYERS

1. Job 1:8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

Job became a reference point.

In this month of September, make me a reference point that the whole world will be looking at

2. Father please choose me to be a recipient of your divinely arranged introduction.Let me receive mighty divinely arranged introduction.

3. Father please let every fruit of my labour stolen by the enemy be restored in Jesus name.

4. Father please give the oppressors no rest until they have restored fully all they have taken from me.

5. Father please let every area of captivity in my life be turned to place of restoration in Jess name.
