Text: Nehemiah 4:14-18 KJV – 14 “And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses. 15 And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall, everyone unto his work. 16 And it came to pass from that time forth, that the half of my servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the habergeons; and the rulers were behind all the house of Judah. 17 They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, everyone with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon. 18 For the builders, everyone had his sword girded by his side, and so builded. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me.”
TYPE OF HOMES
1) NON-CHRISTIAN HOMES
2) HOME OF CHRISTIANS: Homes of those who are Christian by mouth but are far from God.
3) CHRISTIANS HOMES
A Christian home is a home whose foundation is on Christ Jesus, Been under the control of Holy spirit, base on Biblical principles. In this home, God is the final authority, kindness is their attitude, holiness is the standard, love is their Language, joy is their Music, the husband is the king, the wife is the Queen, while Children are been led in the way of the lord
ADVANTAGES OF BUILDING CHRISTIAN HOMES
Ruth 3:1 KJV
“Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?”
– REST
– PEACE OF MIND
Ecclesiastes 9:9 KJV “Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.”
– JOY
RASING OF GODLY CHILDREN
Christian home is the right atmosphere to Raise Children like Daniel.
Daniel 1:4 KJV “Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.”
HOW TO BUILD A CHRISTIAN HOME
1) BECOME A CHRISTIAN
“And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.” Acts 11:26
A Christian, not just somebody that goes to Church
A Christian is not just someone that Pastors a Church
A Christian is not just someone that bears Christian names
A Christin is not someone that claims to be born again
WHO IS A CHRISTIAN
Ephesians 5:27 KJV – “That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”
A Christian is someone who lives a life that resembles Jesus
A Christian is someone been controlled by the holy spirit
A Christian is someone obeying the Bible 100%
A Christian is someone living Holy and righteous life.
2) KNOW THE PURPOSE OF A CHRISTIAN HOME
Genesis 2:18 – “And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.”
Companionship
Strength
3) LAY A CHRISTIAN FOUNDATION
1 Corinthians 3:11 – “For other foundation, can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
on top of Christ, lay the following:
Prayer
Patience
Divine Direction
Love
Godly Character
Counsel
Purity in Courtship
Honourable Wedding.
4) BUILD UP YOURSELF TO BECOME A CHRISTIAN HUSBAND/WIFE
— A Faithful Man
Proverbs 20:6 – “Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?”
— A Virtuous Woman
Proverbs 31:10 – “Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.”
Accept, Believe and do everything the Bible says about Christian Husband and wives Roles and responsibility
5) BUILD UP YOURSELF TO BE A CHRISTIAN PARENT
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 – “And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”
