Exodus 19:1-6 AMP – “In the third month after the children of Israel had left the land of Egypt, the very same day, they came into the Wilderness of Sinai. When they moved out from Rephidim, they came to the Wilderness of Sinai and they camped there; Israel camped at the base of the mountain [of Sinai]. Moses went up to God [on the mountain], and the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, “Say this to the house of Jacob and tell the Israelites: ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to Myself. Now therefore, if you will in fact obey My voice and keep My covenant (agreement), then you shall be My own special possession and treasure from among all peoples [of the world], for all the earth is Mine; and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation [set apart for My purpose].’ These are the words that you shall speak to the Israelites.””
Deuteronomy 32:9-12 AMP – “For the Lord’s portion and chosen share is His people; Jacob (Israel) is the allotment of His inheritance. He found him in a desert land, In the howling wasteland of a wilderness; He kept circling him, He took care of him, He protected him as the apple of His eye. As an eagle that protects its nest, That flutters over its young, He spread out His wings and took them, He carried them on His pinions. So the Lord alone led him; There was no foreign god with him.”
The words of God spoken through Moses to the children of Israel. God tried to convey a pictorial image in their minds of how He delivered them from slavery, captivity, suffering, and torment in Egypt. It was like how an eagle bears its children on its wings across a distance.
Characteristics of an eagle
Great vision. –
The eyes of the Lord move to and fro the earth to deliver His children.
Strong and not fearful. –
The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous runs into it..
Ability to ride on storms. –
The Prince of peace.
High altitude flier. –
Jesus name is above every other name. At the name of Jesus every..
Only feed on fresh and live animals. –
Has the power to kill and to make alive.
Ability to renew its strength and live longer. –
He has no beginning and no end.
It nurtures its young. He is a good Shepherd. –
He cares for His sheep.
They usually flock together. –
Where two or three are gathered in My name I will be in their midst.
They test their mate, trust for life. –
Let’s hold fast to the profession of our faith without wavering; Faithful is He Who has promised,
They exercise patience while restarting life. –
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slackness, but patient towards you, not willing any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.
Characteristics of eagles wings
Very wide.
Very strong.
Generate great speed.
Used to take up sharply.
Enable eagles to glide and soar.
Ability to regrow.
What does it mean to be borne on eagles wings?
Guarantee sure security – For He will command His angels, to bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
Provide tender care – Casting all your care upon Him; for He cares for you.
Move with great speed – That race is not to the swift, nor battle to the strong; but time and chance happen to them all.
Attain great height – far above principalities
Advantages or benefits of being borne on eagles wings
You can not fall
You will make tremendous progress
No evil hand can touch you
Examples of those that were borne on eagles wings
The Israelites, as they journeyed from Egypt to Canaan
Abraham, as he journeyed from the Ur of Chaldeas to Canaan
Isaac, as he transverse within Canaan land
Jacob, as he journeyed to Syria and back to Canaan
Apostle Paul through his missionary journeys
Requirements needed to be borne on eagles wings
Must be born by a eagle (John 1:11-12). Eagles only beget eaglet, who later grow..
Must follow Mother Eagle instructions (John 12:26; 14:23).
Must be strong and of a good courage – sweep away and under – (Jos. 1: 6,7,9).
Must be still and calm when going through storms and turbulence (Psalm 46:10).
Must be able to learn fast (James 1:19).
Prayers
Father, do not allow my expectations in You to be cut off or denied.
Father, do not allow Your promises to me to go unfulfilled.
Father, regardless of whatever comes, help me to hold unto Your word.
Father, do not let me be put to shame.
Father, grant unto me more than I can think or imagine.
Father, help me to do greater things than You did while here on earth.
Father, turn me into extraordinary vessel in Your hands.
Isaiah 14:3 AMP – prayers for rest “And it will be in the day when the Lord gives you rest from your pain and turmoil and from the harsh service in which you have been enslaved,”
Father, let all my challenges pass away.
Father, grant me rest from my labours.
Father, let Your judgment come upon anything that is contending with my rest.
Father, grant me the wisdom that will bring rest for me.
Father, grant me a gift of rest from You.
Joshua 22:4 AMP “And now the Lord your God has given rest to your brothers, as He has promised them; so turn now and go to your tents, to the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you beyond the [east side of the] Jordan.”
Father, let our congregation enjoy rest.
Father, let Your promised rest be given to us now.
Father, You gave rest to the people of old, give us rest today.
Father, grant us rest that will establish us more.
Father, help us to take more territories for You.
Father, restore grounds we might have lost due to any disturbance.
Joshua 21:43-45 AMP – “So the Lord gave Israel all the land which He had sworn to give to their fathers (ancestors), and they took possession of it and lived in it. The Lord gave them rest [from conflict] on every side, in accordance with everything that He had sworn to their fathers, and not one of all their enemies stood before them [in battle]; the Lord handed over all their enemies to them. Not one of the good promises which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel failed; all had come to pass.”
Father, grant unto me complete rest roundabout.
Father, bless me according to all you have promised before.
Father, do not allow any situation or challenge to withstand me.
Father, deliver my enemies into my hands.
Father, do not allow Your spoken word into my life to fail.
1 Kings 21:11-16 AMP – prayers against evil attention – “So the men of his city, the elders and the nobles who lived there, did as Jezebel had sent word to them, just as it was written in the letters which she had sent to them. They proclaimed a fast and seated Naboth at the head of the people. Two worthless and unprincipled men came in and sat down opposite him; and they testified against Naboth before the people, saying, “Naboth cursed and renounced God and the king.” Then they brought him outside the city and stoned him to death. Then they sent word to Jezebel, saying, “Naboth has been stoned to death.” When Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned and was dead, she said to Ahab, “Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite which he refused to sell you, because Naboth is no longer alive, but dead.” When Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, he arose to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.”
Father, disconnect me from every negative attention.
Father, blind the eyes of anyone that is thinking of me in a bad way.
Father, shut the eyes that are looking at Your gift in my life with envy.
Father, preserve all my estates from the evil eye.
Father, protect me from thieves, robbers and raiders.
Father, preserve my earthly and heavenly inheritances.
Father, help me not to lose my selling point in life.
Father, scatter every evil meeting that have been arranged against my life and inheritance.
Father, help me to reject every seat of honour intended to ruin me.
Father, protect me from Sons of Belial and worthless people.
Father, shield me from the lying tongues of men.
Zechariah 4:6-9 AMP – prayers for unusual strength and victory – “Then he said to me, “This [continuous supply of oil] is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel [prince of Judah], saying, ‘Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit [of whom the oil is a symbol],’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘What are you, O great mountain [of obstacles]? Before Zerubbabel [who will rebuild the temple] you will become a plain (insignificant)! And he will bring out the capstone [of the new temple] with loud shouts of “Grace, grace to it!” ’ ” Also the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundations of this house, and his hands will finish it. Then you will know (recognize, understand fully) that the Lord of hosts has sent me [as His messenger] to you.”
Father, let Your Spirit increase my power and might in Jesus mighty name.
Father, subdue every host against me under my feet.
In the name of Jesus, every mountain before me shall become a plain.
Father, expose every enemy that has been hiding from me.
Father, shine Your light in my life. Let no work of darkness be able to hide.
Exodus 23:25-26 AMP – prayers for provision, good health and fruitfulness – “You shall serve [only] the Lord your God, and He shall bless your bread and water. I will also remove sickness from among you. No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.”
Father, let my food and water be blessed by You.
Father, take away sickness from me.
Father, do not allow me to suffer any miscarriage of any kind.
1 Samuel 17:3, 8-11 AMP – prayers against intimidation and fear. “The Philistines were standing on the mountain on one side and Israel was standing on the mountain on the other side, with the valley between them. Goliath stood and shouted to the battle lines of Israel, saying to them, “Why have you come out to draw up for battle? Am I not the Philistine and are you not servants of Saul? Choose a man for yourselves and have him come down to me. If he is able to fight with me and kill me, then we will become your servants; but if I prevail against him and kill him, then you shall become our servants and serve us.” Again the Philistine said, “I defy the battle lines of Israel this day; give me a man so that we may fight together.” When Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were dismayed and greatly afraid.”
Father, do not permit any Goliath to intimidate me.
Father, overthrow every Philistine that has lined up against me.
Father, please come to my help. I am vulnerable without You.
Father, break asunder every sword, javelin, arrow, spear, bow, and other weapons that evil men and evil spirits have fashioned against me.
Father, put to shame every power that is defying Your grace upon my life.
Father, make me become immune to all forms of fear. Let nothing make me afraid.
