February 2022 Theme – Jehovah Bara – The Lord Creator

The Bible makes us to know that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Gen. 1: 1). According to the Holy Bible, God spoke all that we know and see into existence. Whatever God desired to see, He commanded it, and it became visible (Gen. 1: 3, 6, 9, 11, 14-14, 24; Heb. 11: 3). So, through the creative power of the word of God, all things came into manifestation. Man was the only creature that God had to make and formed with His hands (Gen. 1: 26-27).

There are several gods that seek to ascribe creation or parts of creation to themselves falsely. There are equally parts or whole of creation that Men have ignorantly and foolishly ascribed to certain gods from ancient times. For example, Baal was believed to be the god of fertility, weather, rain, wind, lightning, seasons, etc in the regions of ancient Syria, Canaan, North Africa, Egypt, etc such that people who desired benefits as touching those aspects of creation would readily become Baal worshippers.

While Men from ancient times were sensible to know that the manifestations of nature must have been the ingenuity of a supreme being; they were however gullible to create objects for themselves and arrogate the honorific and sacred title of creator or lord to such images. Demonic powers are then able to seize the opportunity to take possession of such deity names and images, and further molest the people (Ex. 32: 1-4; I Kings 12: 25-31).

Since the Almighty God is the Creator of all, it means that He can sustain and maintain what He created; and He can also re-create and replace anything within creation (Eccl. 3: 11-15). These are what the false gods cannot do.

In Prov. 15: 3, the bible says the eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. In Gen. 6: 5-8, we see that when God saw that Man’s wickedness was so much on the earth, He decided to wipe off creation. He however decided to still sustain and maintain creation by preserving Noah’s family, together with male and female species of every animal.

Again, when idolatry became rife all over the earth, God called out a man (Abram) from the Ur of Chaldees to re-create a holy nation (Israel) to Himself (Gen. 12: 1-3; Ex. 19: 3-6).

We are all knowledgeable enough to ascertain that the Almighty God is the Creator of the heavens and the earth. God has however laid it in my heart of recent that He will demonstrate this truth to us even more assuredly. He promises to sustain and provide excellent maintenance for all He has created for us, in us and by us. He has also avowed that whatever re-creation or replacement of creations we require or need; such shall be accorded to us. May the creative power of the Living God bring all these to happen in our lives and Assembly in Jesus name.
