Your Place Has Been Reserved in Heaven, by Pastor Samuel Obafaiye

In John 14:1-3, Jesus Himself told the disciples that in heaven there are many mansions and that He was going to prepare a place for them. He then said He would come again to bring them to their own mansion which will be with Him in heaven.

You are here and you think heaven is not for you. You are always in doubt and not sure if God had you in mind when He is making His mansions, I came to tell you today that a place is reserved for you.

In Rev. 7: 9-10, Jesus revealed to John the beloved the sort of people who will be in heaven, at least 144,000 Jews, then a great multitude which no man could number, who have come from every nation, and of all tribes, and peoples and tongues. All these people were arrayed in white raiment and stood before the throne of Jesus.

Out of every nation means all nations will be represented. Our determination and prayer should be even if it’s only one person that will be there from my nation, it should be us.

Jesus first came to the Jews so they could be the ‘vehicle’ of the good news and by so doing make them a kingdom of priests and kings unto Himself. They didn’t receive Him, so we that received Him are given the opportunity to become sons and daughters of God. So for everyone that receives Him, a place is prepared for such.

In Rom. 2:9-11, the bible says that God is no respecter of persons. He relates with anyone that would want to be closer to Him.

Abraham was called out from the Ur of the Chaldeas, Mesopotamia in Iraq.

Job was said to be a man from the East.

The wise men that got the revelation of Jesus birth were from the East.

God has special regard for everyone that would pay the required price to be intimate with Him.

Right from the Old Testament, God had wanted His house to be a place of prayer for all nations (Isaiah 56: 7). So when the Early Church began, God demonstrated this as the 120 disciples who are predominantly Jews began to speak in languages from Africa to Asia (Acts 2:1-12).

There was a time when Aaron and Miriam (elder siblings of Moses) began a coup to overthrow Moses because he married a foreigner, but God said Moses was more faithful than they were (Num. 12:1-10).

This gives us an assurance that where we come from does not determine our place in heaven, but who we are in Christ.

The Church has always tried to accommodate every tribe in her borders, but this as always been a challenge to each group and denomination. Such mistake was seen in Acts 6:1-7, the apostles tried to fix it, but such mistakes is still with us in our churches of today.

Peter was someone that depicted this error of judgement again and again, and it’s possible for priests to do the same (Acts 10: 1- 35; Gal. 2:11-13).

Thank God for people like Apostle Paul, who demonstrated no segregation or favouritism among believers. He showed this with his relationship with Timothy (Acts 16: 4-8).

We ought to follow in his footsteps. There must be no segregation of race or tribe among us. It is true that some tribe will be bigger than others, yet we must celebrate the fewer in numbers as well, as God will not keep any tribe out of heaven because they are few in number.

Most hotels take a card to guarantee room reservation. So that if you didn’t cancel in time and don’t show up, they take their money.

Heaven reservation can’t be guaranteed with credit/debit card, except the Blood of Jesus. The room reservation will be released or cancelled if the Blood can’t be seen. Has the Blood wash you clean? Is your name in the Book of Life? Are you keeping your eyes on your reservation so it does not get released or cancelled? If you want the Blood to wash you afresh, now is the time.

Prayer

Father, help me to be a representative for my tribe in Your kingdom in Jesus name.
