The God Who Remembers, by Pastor (Mrs) Anthonia Obafaiye

Our Father in heaven will be speaking to us today from His throne of grace through this short message He has inspired me to title The God who remembers.

Today is Mothers’ Day and the theme for this occasion is Remember me Oh Lord, and the theme of the month of March as spoken by God through His Prophet is Divine Compensation.

Brethren the Spirit of God is one indeed. God is speaking to us indeed. He wants to do something awesome in our lives and in His church in this season and My prayer for us is that we will not miss it in Jesus name.

In the Book of Isaiah 49:14-16 the word of God says: ‘But Zion said, The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.

Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands, thy walls are continually before me.

Psalm 102:13 says ‘Thou shalt arise and have mercy upon Zion, for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come. (The story of the civil war in Nigeria)

Psalm 30:5 says ‘For His anger endures but a moment, in his favour is life (another version says is mercy is for a life time) weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning.

I declare that by the mercies and grace of God the time for someone’s joy has come in Jesus name. Your joy will overflow in Jesus name. I said it will run over in Jesus name.

I see someone singing a new song and dancing a new dance in Jesus name, why because God will remember you for good and favour you in Jesus name.

Hannah in the Book of 1Samuel 2:1-10 sang a new song to the Glory of God because He remembered her. There is none Holy as The Lord, there is none beside thee.

Elizabeth sang a new song in Luke 1:41-45 when she heard the salutation of Mary, the baby in her womb leaped because it recognised the Saviour Mary was carrying in her womb, whom he was going to be a fore runner for. Let somebody shout Hallelujah. Shout for joy because God is about to do something that will cause the ears of men to tingle and cause you to laugh like Sarah laughed and everyone that hears you laugh will laugh with you.

You know they say he who laughs last, laughs best.

Luke 1:45 says blessed is he/she that believed, for there shall be a performance of those things which were told he/her from The Lord. They say expectation is the mother of manifestation, so if you what a performance of the things God has promised you, you need to believe in Him.

Brethren God remembers, man will forget because God said in his word that the arm of flesh will always fail but God never fails. God remembered Mordecai in the book of Esther 6:1-14 for a coup against the King he foiled in the Book of Esther 2. Mordecai never spoke a word about being honoured by the King for what he did, but his good works spoke for him on the day of his need. The Bible makes to understand that God is the Help of the helpless, our very help in time if trouble.

Brethren the King forgot what Mordecai did but God did not forget, the Bible says in the Book of Eccl. 3:11 ‘ In His own time God makes everything beautiful. That is exactly what He did in the case of Mordecai, and it was so interesting that God used the very enemy (Haman) that wanted to end his life and the lives of the Jews in the land to honour him. God not only remembered him but He Divinely compensated him as well.

This brings us to the question of how or what do I need to do for God to remember me:

The Bible encourages us in Thessalonians 3:13 ‘But ye, Brethren, be not weary in well doing.

Galatians 6:9 ‘And let us not be weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Brethren it is the good works we do that speaks or will speak on our behalf in the end. The Bible says God can’t be mocked, whatsoever a man sows he/she will reap.

King Hezekiah in the Bible in the Book of Isaiah 38 when God told him to set his house in order because he was going to die, look at the prayer he prayed in verse 3 ‘ Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. Brethren God heard his prayer, remembered and answered him by adding another 15 years to his life.

May our Father in heaven bless and remember us all for good and favour in Jesus name.
