January 2017 Theme – Surprise Motion
Surprise can be defined as something unexpected, or cause (someone) to feel astonished or shocked. Motion on the other hand, is described as a change in position of an object over time. In Physics, it is usually described in terms of displacement, distance, velocity, acceleration, time and speed. Motion of an object is determined by measuring the change in position of that object in relation to a frame of reference. So that if the position of an object is not moving with respect to its frame of reference, the object is said to be at rest or motionless. It is interesting to note that an object’s motion cannot change unless it is acted upon by a force. Simply put, motion is the action or process of moving or been moved.
The distance at which an object moves towards it’s frame of reference is determined by a number of factors, so that when those factors are set aside and yet the object still moved, the object can then said to have experienced a surprised motion.
In I Kings 18:41-46, the bible tells us the story of how King Ahab and Prophet Elijah embarked upon a trip. The journey was to be from Mt. Carmel to the City of Jezreel (a distance of about 20 miles). King Ahab departed first on a chariot while Prophet Elijah later followed on foot. It was recorded that the hand of God came upon Elijah and he guided up his loins and outran Ahab to Jezreel.
One would have thought that Ahab that was travelling on a chariot would have arrived Jezreel first, and the fact that he set off first. But no, the power of Jehovah granted Elijah a surprised motion, so that he outran a chariot!
This is first month of this year, God has laid it in my heart that He will grant Everlasting Father’s Assembly surprise motion throughout this year, stating from this month. God wants us to be prepared for the race ahead. He has however promised that He will make us to cover great distance; fast track our velocity; heightened our acceleration; save us huge time and grant us shocking speed. May these be our portion in Jesus name. Amen!
