Revelation Births Transformation, by Pastor Samuel Obafaiye

Revelation Births Transformation, by Pastor Samuel Obafaiye

In Elementary Biology, I was taught that we have five senses which are somehow connected to our brain: Sense of sight; Sense of smell; Sense of touch; Sense of hearing and Sense of taste.

Every one of these senses has a crucial role to play in the day-to-day living of we humans. I will, however, argue that for me the sense of sight is most critical.  For example:

Something that will taste, smell or feels nice or bad will most likely be detected by the sense of sight; and without the ability to hear, mere watching the mouth of one talking can aid recognition of words and assist one with a right response.

I’m making a case for the importance of the ability to see which I want to link to the power of revelation.

In one of Jesus teachings, He highlighted the importance of the sense of sight vis a vis the entire body.

Matthew 6:22-23 – The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

Most of the times, when we hear certain things that seem unbelievable, its likely to disbelieve them; but when we see such things physically, it is hard for us to deny.

The woman at the well of Sychar John 4:39-42

The lame man at the beautiful gate Acts 4:13-19

I have come to understand that what one is able to see about themselves will determine what one will eventually become.

In life most people just look; only a few people see.

To enjoy transformation, one’s sight must have graduated from looking to seeing.

Abraham – Gen. 13:14-18

May God open your eyes to how you will enjoy fellows with Him and fatness in life.

Jesus – Heb. 12:2; Phil. 2:5-10

Hebrews 12:2 – looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hosts of hell lacked this revelation –

1 Corinthians 2:7-10

But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him” these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.

In 28/08/63. Martin Luther King Jr. Expressed a revelation he had. – I have a dream. That my 4 little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin, but by the content of their character. I have a dream today!

In 2008, the first black president was elected.

There is someone here, you are going through a tough ‘training’, I pray that you will be able to see your POP. I also pray that you will hold on to this till the day comes.

We are what and who we are by the reason of what has been revealed to us in life and the resultant actions we have taken regarding such revelations.

For one’s life to be more transformed; there is the need for one to experience more revelations and to employ commensurate action.

Bartimaeus the bling beggar – Luke 18:35-43; Luke 10:46-52

Used to be a roadside beggar

Became one who could see

Became an active disciple of Jesus.

All these happened because he had a revelation that Jesus was passing and also the revelation of who Jesus is, and what He can do. His life was totally transformed.

Those who have the revelation that is not common and are willing to act on it will always have an edge over their contemporaries.

They will have an advantage in life over others.

Elisha – 2 Kings 2:1-5

All the sons of prophets in every city that Elijah passed through before been taken to heaven actually knew that he would be departing from Earth. It means they had accurate revelation; sadly, though they didn’t act on it.

It was only Elisha that was prepared to pay the required sacrifice to go with Elijah all the way.

He also had to stay alert to receive further revelation as touching the exact time Elijah would depart to obtain his intended transformation. The bible said, “And Elisha saw it…”.

What a transformation he received! Other sons of prophets became subjects to him.

50 of them even stood afar off at River Jordan to look at Elisha’s destiny play out dramatically. They were still there when he returned! Why not just follow?

– He was originally not s son of prophets, but a farmer.

– He had only served as a servant to Elijah for three years.

– He became their master and father.

May you begin to see uncommon revelation. If you have been seeing, may you see more and clearer in Jesus name.

Rebekah overheard Esau saying he would kill Jacob after the death of their father. So, she planned for Jacob to go and stay with her brother in Padan-Aram till Esau’s anger would subside (Gen. 27:41-45).

In Gen. 28:1-22, the Bible tells us that Jacob proceeded on the journey to Syria, he got to a place called Luz at sunset; and had to sleep. He had a dream that night. He saw a ladder set up on the earth and the top reaching heaven, and angels of God ascending and descending on it.

In the dream, Jacob saw God above the ladder saying these to him:

– He is the God of his fathers.

– He will give him the land on which he lied down;

– That his seed shall be as the dust of the earth;

– That the families of the earth shall be blessed by him;

– He will be with him wherever he went;

– He will bring him back;

– He will not leave him until He has fulfilled all that He has said concerning him.

When Jacob woke up, he was shocked that God revealed Himself in such a place and in such a manner. He, however, made certain vows and carried out certain actions.

This revelation that Jacob had was to help him for many years after as he sojourned in Syria and as he later made his way back home.

After that incident, Jacob became a changed man.

– From a fearful runaway man to a coming back permanent resident. You are running around…may God make your stay permanent.

– From one individual who wasn’t sure would survive to a prospective father of multitudes.

– From the owner of nothing to a prospective owner of a wide expanse of lands and territories.

As Jacob was serving Laban, this revelation never left him. No wonder he demanded that Laban should send him away with his family.

One of the fastest and easiest way for one’s life to be transformed is to receive uncommon revelation and be able to communicate it appropriately to something that will be beneficial to mankind.

Daniel (Daniel 2:1-28).

Joseph (Gen. 41:1-46).

This message is to bring to light:

  1. The importance of revelation to the destiny of any man.
  2. The need to pray for one to be a recipient of fresh revelations.
  3. The need to act on any revelation received appropriately.

Ecclesiastes 9:11 – Again, I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favour to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.

May you enjoy fresh revelations from God in Jesus name.

Prayer

Luke 18:41 – Father, help me, that I may see. Regain my sight.

Isaiah 11:2 – Father, let the Spirit of wisdom, knowledge and understanding rest on me.

2 Kings 6:8-17 – Father, make me see beyond what other eyes can see.
