Welfare Ministry

The Welfare Department is a ministry of service and the fundamental principles of the department are Love. Our purpose as a department is to promote self-reliance, care and service not just the needy but the entire church. Serving and supporting the congregation has helped the church in carrying out its mission in the area of provision for the congregation. Being responsible for the care of the church, and supporting the Pastor’s vision in reaching needy families and also in providing refreshment for the congregation every Sunday, have a positive impact on the church. The support we provide in the area of refreshment especially food on Thanksgiving Day is a demonstration of love from the pastor to the entire church as laid down by our Lord Jesus. Over the years, the department has supports the church’s efforts to reach needy families, especially those that just deliver babies and those that are sick. The department is actively involved in all church activities, such as support in organising programmes and providing refreshment during programmes. While ministering to the physical needs of the people, the department is demonstrating God’s love and bring others to Christ.

As a department, we are committed to efficiency and excellence, always looking for ways to improve as we know our God is a God of Excellence. Also, we are zealous in advancing the general welfare of the church, congregation and the kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. As responsible workers in God’s vineyard, welfare members are expected to come regularly and punctually for church services and meetings. Furthermore, as we interact with people from different backgrounds, the Welfare Members are committed to exhibiting patience at all times and have self-control over their speech and actions having in mind that a lot of people come to church with different burdens. Therefore, welfare members are to always maintain a polite and cheerful countenance with everybody; and to display an attitude of humility that seeks to please God rather than any man or self.

Our vision as a department is to reach out to every member of the congregation, adult and children, male and female, irrespective of nationality or background, within and outside the church, and to extend the Love of God to them as much as we can. Our goal is to assist members of the church in need of assistance to meet their basic needs; to periodically support needy members of the community with basic necessities through established charities or shelters, within our means by distributing non-perishable foodstuff, clothing, blankets, towels, toiletries, etc.; and to demonstrate the Love of God through active support and volunteering at shelters, and supporting the community in any capacity God as giving us.
