Destinies Do Speak, May Yours Not Keep Silent, by Pastor Samuel Obafaiye

What is destiny? – Destiny can be defined as “The events that will necessarily happen to a particular thing or person in the future”.

How do I know my destiny?
Your destiny is what you are created for; what God intended for your life. What you were created for. The original plan of God for you; it is your divine purpose and assignment on earth. The way God sees you is your destiny.

For example, the destiny of Gideon was that he would be a mighty warrior and a great deliverer, but he was seeing himself as an insignificant fellow.
Judges 6:12 – And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him, and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.

Jeremiah was ordained to be a voice for God to nations.
Jeremiah 1:5 – Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

Ephesians 1:11 – In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Ephesians 2:10 – For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

How do I know my destiny?
Our destiny usually manifest through our gifts. The kind of gift and talent God has bestowed on you will tell you what your destiny is or will be.

I Peter 4:10 – As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

Proverbs 18:16 – A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.

For example
Bazaleel, was destined to be great as he was gifted to be an anointed craftsman.
Exodus 31:1-5 – And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.

Joseph was destined to be great as he was gifted to be an anointed dreamer and interpreter of dreams.
Genesis 41:15 – And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it.

Jephthah was destined to be great as he was gifted to be an anointed warrior.
Judges 11:1 – Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and Gilead begat Jephthah.

For most of us like Gideon, the way God ordained and see our destinies may not be how we are yet. Two things may be the case: the crucial time for us to manifest that destiny is yet to come; or something serious may have happened to our destiny along the line.

If it is that the time for your destiny to manifest has not come fully, may God help you to wait for it, it shall surely come in Jesus name.
If it is that something had happened along the line, may God restore you to His original plan and purpose for your life in Jesus name.

6 things that can happen to a destiny
1. Destiny can be diverted.
Genesis 31:1-3 – And he heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father’s; and of that which was our father’s hath he gotten all this glory. And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before. And the Lord said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.

Ecclesiastes 10:5-7 – There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceedeth from the ruler: Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place. I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth.

Esau destiny was diverted.
Eli destiny was diverted.
King Saul destiny was diverted.

I pray in the name of Jesus, your destiny will not be diverted. If there be anyone in this gathering, that their destiny has been diverted for any reason, I decree a return, restoration of your destiny in Jesus name.

2. Destiny can be silenced.
Moses destiny was silenced for 30 years.
Jehu’s destiny was silenced for many years (I Kings 19:15-17; 2 Kings 9:5-6).

Someone here, your destiny has remained dormant, may the power to become active come upon your destiny in Jesus name.

3. Destiny can be truncated or stopped altogether. It can be made to come to an end prematurely.
Samson destiny was brought to an end by Delilah.
Gehazi destiny was brought to an end by his own greed and covetousness.
Naboth destiny was brought to an end by sheer wickedness.

In the name of Jesus Christ the Son of God, your destiny shall not be truncated. It shall not be cut off in its prime.

4. Destiny can be messed up and molested.
Mt 13: 24-28 – the enemy sow tares in the wheat.
Jabez destiny was messed up big time. He was to be an honourable man, but was a pain and sorrow his destiny was full of.

In the name of Jesus Christ, may your destiny not become messed up, may no one molest your destiny.
May the cry of what is messing up with my life not come from your mouth.

5. Destiny can be empowered, assisted or aided to do well.
In Luke 22:31-34, Peter’s destiny was aided by Jesus.
David’s destiny was aided by Jonathan.

I pray for you, may God empowered your destiny to succeed.
May God send formidable helpers of destiny to you.
Your destiny will not lack support in Jesus name.

6. Destiny can be fulfilled and achieved.
In 2 Tim. 4:7, Paul declared that his destiny was fulfilled.
In John 19:30, Jesus said His destiny was completed successfully.
In I Sam. 12:1-15, Samuel said his destiny was blamelessly fulfilled.

In the name of Jesus, your destiny will be fulfilled.
May your destiny not attract shame and reproach in Jesus name.

6 ways to fulfil your destiny – Joseph as a case study
1. Try and identify your special gift – For Joseph it was dream.
2. Live a life of obedience: Joseph obeyed his father, obeyed God. Eph. 4:1
3. Be kind and well behave to people wherever you go – Brothers, Potiphar, Chief Jailor…
4. Make adequate use of your gift – Tell me I prayed thee your dreams…
5. Be patient, the voice to a destiny has a voice it must speak, wait for it – 13 years…
6. Trust only in God, God usually use helpers, but do not trust in any – Butler used

May your destiny speak and not be silenced in Jesus name.
